Richard Laplante  –  Director Operations and Field Support

Born and raised in a small community in rural Maine, Richard moved to Portland after graduation to attend business college and pursue a degree in Computer Science. Upon completion he became part of the IT department for a large commercial bank in New England for nearly 18 years. During this same time he and his wife were very active in church life as a result of a dramatic encounter with the Lord during the Charismatic Renewal in the early 70’s and well into the 80’s.

It was in the late 80’s that Richard sensed a leading and desire to go Bible college and be in full-time ministry. In 1990 his family moved from Maine to Oklahoma where he and his wife graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center. During his second year of studies he worked part-time for a local ministry in the Tulsa area and eventually went full-time to serve as their office manager. It was during this time that Richard became acquainted with Bridges for Peace. In the summer of 1995, one year later, he joined up with their growing team. Richard made his first trip to Israel in May of 1996. This trip had a major impact on his life as he became more aware of the significance of Israel and the unique ministry and calling of Bridges for Peace.

In late summer of 2006 Richard and his family relocated to Florida to work out of the new national office in Melbourne. If you spend any time at all around Richard you will undoubtedly hear him say, “I have the best job in the world!”
Richard and his wife Helen live in Central, Florida.
