2005 This exhibit is a powerful and sometimes disturbing display of hatred, violence and oppression. It depicts how various societies have attempted to ostracize, demonize, and marginalize the Jewish people and how racial and religious stereotyping still exists today. THE EXHIBIT The curator of this exhibit, Dr. Joke Kniesmejer, a non-Jew, worked on the creation of the Anne Frank exhibit that toured Albuquerque and other US cities several years ago. Subsequently, she was commissioned by the Dutch Reform Church to research anti-Semitism and created a similar exhibit that traveled throughout Russia, Poland and France. This exhibit is on loan from The French Children of the Holocaust Foundation and has toured the country, including being displayed in the US Senate Russell Building.NEVER AGAIN! allows viewers to walk through centuries of anti-Semitism and experience the dramatic impact of the often stark images and text. This emotionally charged, multi-media exhibit incorporates photography, testimonials, music and film. The goal of this exhibit and its related programming is to educate the audience to the evils of anti-Semitism.WHO SHOULD SEE IT? Everyone! This is a superb learning tool for middle-school, high school and college-aged students to understand and absorb the ills of all prejudice, and specifically anti-Semitism.It is strongly suggested that middle-school students be academically and emotionally prepared prior to viewing this exhibit.Being Jewish is not a prerequisite to understanding hate in the world today. In the aftermath of 9/11 the American public can empathize with the plight of the Jewish people. We are all too painfully aware that no one is exempt from the evils of hatred. We must educate all generations to ensure that the evils that have been perpetuated against the Jewish people never happen again….to them or to anyone!ANTI-SEMITISM IS ALIVE TODAY The European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, an agency of the European Union, printed two major reports on anti-Semitism (March, 2004) citing the dramatic rise in anti-Semitic incidents in several European countries including Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands and the UK. The report revealed how Europe has become a more hostile environment for Jews. In France, which has Europe’s largest Jewish community, over 7,000 Jewish citizens recently immigrated to Israel to avoid persecution by Islamic extremists. France’s government reported a dramatic rise in racist and anti-Semitic acts over the past few years including attacks against Jews. This past year synagogues were burned in Europe as well as in America. On numerous American college campuses, Jewish students are berated, bullied and sometimes brutalized while defending the right of the State of Israel to exist. We must educate ourselves and future generations to come to the evils of this type of terrorism.WHAT YOU SHOULD DO: Know the facts. See this FREE
