the state of Missouri. They have planned
a comprehensive Bible study adventure in
Israel and invite you to join them. They

Interfaith Relations Director for BFP.
JoAnn is the author of the BFP Study tour
manual and a veteran of over 50 tours to
Israel. She will present several evening
teaching sessions while we are traveling

Itinerary
Day
1 ~ USA/Israel
Departure from the USA on the first leg of
our journey to Israel. Aloft, we will have
dinner, a little sleep time, break-fast and
the opportunity to praise the Lord for His
great cre-ation from the vantage point of
35,000 feet!
Day 2 ~ Tel Aviv
Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, meeting
and assistance through customs.Then it’s
off to Jaffa for a tour of this ancient seaport
where Jonah began his maritime adventure.
After our tour we’ll continue to
our hotel in Tel Aviv for din-ner and overnight.
Day 3 ~ Independence Hall,
Caesarea/Mt. Carmel/Tiberias After a well-deserved
rest and a full Israeli breakfast, we will
begin our tour of Israel with a moving
visit to the home of Tel Aviv’s first mayor
and the room where the State of Israel was
proclaimed in May 1948. We drive north along
the ancient Via Maris, the coastal highway
of the Bible, to Caesarea Maritima, the former
Roman capital of Judea. See excavations from
the Second Temple period and sites familiar
from the Acts of the Apostles. Up the road
we will view the Jezreel Valley from Mukrakha
where Elijah challenged the prophets of Ba’al.
Megiddo is next, with a view of the “Valley
of Armageddon” (Rev. 16:16), as well
as the amazing ruins of a Solomonic city
(1 Kings 9: 15). Pass the Horns of Hittin – site
of the Crusader defeat in 1187 – and
on to Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee for
dinner and overnight.
Day 4 ~ Jezreel Valley sites
A visit to Tel Jezreel, site of the story
of Ahab and Jezebel, Ein Harod – Gideon’s
spring, view the recently excavated city
of Tzippori and consider its significance
at the time of Jesus. A brief stop at the
overlook in Nazareth with a view of the Jezreel
Valley and a visit to Nazareth Village & gift
shop.
View Cana where Jesus performed His first
miracle. We may have time to plant a tree
in Israel with our own hands. Dinner and overnight
near Tiberias.
Day 5 ~ Galilee
Today we will experience the area of Jesus’ ministry
around the Sea of Galilee. After a visit
to the ancient boat from the time of Jesus,
recently discovered near Kibbutz Nof Ginosar,
we will board our own wooden boat and sail
to Capernaum, the “home town” of
Peter. After a visit to the synagogue and
ancient homes of Capernaum, we continue
to the Mt. of
Beatitudes for a time of prayer. We’ll
enjoy a St. Peter’s fish lunch then
proceed to the eastern and northern side
of the Sea of Galilee. Continue to Chorazin,
Kursi, and Bethsaida. We end the day with
stop at the Jordan River, a site significant
to both Jews and Christians. Dinner and
overnight near Tiberias.
Day 6 ~ Golan Heights
Today we travel up to the Golan Heights with
a view of the fortress of Gamla and a stop
at ancient Katzrin. On to the overlook on
the road to Damascus, route of Saul of Tarsus
(Acts 9). Visit Caesarea Philippi and the
Banias Springs. Continue our drive up to
the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian
fortifications from Mt Bental. A fascinating
look at the ancient city of Dan gives us
an opportunity to view the high place of
the city, condemned by the Hebrew prophets
of old (1 Kings 12). Dinner and overnight
near Tiberias.
Day 7 ~ Beit She’an/Qumran/Dead
Sea
As we leave the Sea of Galilee we will
visit Dagania, the first kibbutz, on to
Beit She’an,
an incredible, recently excavated, Roman
City, where King Saul died. Continue down
the Jordan Valley past Gilgal – where
the Jordan River waters parted so the Israelites
could cross dry-shod. We drive past
the turn to Jericho and enjoy our first view
of the austere beauty
of the Dead Sea and check-in at our hotel
near the southern end of the sea with time
to enjoy the water and won-derful spa facilities.
Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea.
Day 8 ~ Dead Sea
Our first activity today will be a visit
to Herod’s fortress at Masada to help
us understand the tragic events of the first
Jewish revolt against the Romans. A stop
at the overlook at Ein Gedi, where David
hid from King Saul (1 Sam. 24), and on to
Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Dinner
and overnight at the Dead Sea.
Day 9 ~ Negev Sites/Up to Jerusalem
Abraham’s home turf, areas near Arad
and Beersheva. Visit Tel Beer Sheva. We’ll
go up to Jerusalem via the Sh’fela – biblical
Philistine territory. Stop at Elah Valley – site
of the battle between David and Goliath.
Visit to the nature center at Neot Kedumim.
Arrive in Jerusalem with view of the city
from an overlook. Dinner and overnight in
Jerusalem.
Day 10 ~ Old City of Jerusalem
After breakfast, we begin our day atop the
Mount of Olives. We walk down the Palm Sunday
path past Dominus Flevit Chapel, a view of
the Russian Church of Mary Magdalene, and
a visit to the ancient olive trees in the
Garden of Gethsemane (John 18). We continue
with a walking tour of the Old City, visiting
sites along the Via Dolorosa: St. Anne’s
Church, Pool of Bethesda, Pilate’s
Judgment Hall and the Church of the Holy
Sepulchre. We will visit the Western Wall
tunnels, southern excavations, Ramparts walk,
Siloam Pool. We’ll end the day with
time for prayer at the Western Wall.
Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 11 ~ New Jerusalem & BFP
Activities
BFP Distribution Center. Haas Promenade lookout.
BFP headquarters. BFP Land of the Bible Experience.
Overlook of Bethlehem, Har Homa, Gilo. Communion
at Garden Tomb. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 12 ~ New Jerusalem
This morning we visit Yad VaShem, the memorial
to the Holocaust. Visit the Knesset, Shrine
of the Book and other sites in New Jerusalem.
Time to shop and just touch, taste and smell
the Old City and its many treasures. Touring
in the New Jewish Quarter. Burnt House, Herodian
Mansions, shopping in the Quarter. Visit and
discussion with our friends
at Shorashim. Time to shop on your own.
Day 13 ~ Jerusalem/ Israel/USA Transfer
to airport for flight home.
Say a reluctant goodbye to Jerusalem. We
will visit Samaria and the Museum of the
Diaspora on our way to the airport to board
our late evening departure flight, arriving
in our home cities the next day.
